Country Music Hall of Fame member Randy Travis and rising country star Drew Parker teamed up to release a duet of the classic Christmas song “There’s A New Kid In Town” last week. Today, the pair of true country artists released an official music video for the song, filmed at Travis’ Texas ranch and his first music video since his 2013 stroke. The duet follows Travis’ release of his remastered Christmas album, An Old Time Christmas (Deluxe Edition) which included the song as a never-before-heard track from the vault. Premiered on CMT today, the video captures a heartwarming experience of the two reuniting and sharing the holiday spirit. Listen to the single here and watch the official music video here. “I hope fans see the true reason for the season in this video. Jesus, our Lord, and togetherness. That’s what it’s all about! Not to mention the fact that Country music is alive and well in this new crop. Drew nails the vocals on this – I’m so glad he went in with Kyle Lehning to record alongside mine from all those years ago,” said Randy Travis when asked what he hopes fans will take away from the video. “There’s nothing like celebrating your favorite holiday by singing one of your favorite songs with one of your heroes. And that’s exactly how I’m spending this Christmas,” said Drew Parker. “There’s A New Kid In Town” was written by Keith Whitley with Don Cook and Curly Putman. Originally released in 1989, Travis’ Christmas album, An Old Time Christmas, is certified Gold by the RIAA. The remastered deluxe edition of the album included three tracks from the vault that are available to be heard for the first time.

After a COVID-related pause, the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME began to get caught up last night (11/21) with a gala ceremony inducting its class of 2020, songwriter DEAN DILLON and artist/writers MARTY STUART and HANK WILLIAMS JR. The ceremony, held at the CMA THEATER inside the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM, was highlighted by little moments, two of them involving 1997 inductee BRENDA LEE. After rising star BRITTNEY SPENCER brought the house down with her tribute to DILLON, performing his song, “TENNESSEE Whiskey,” LEE shouted out from the audience in appreciate of SPENCER, “Let’s all go home. I give up. I quit.” Later, inductee WILLIAMS drew laughs when he dropped to his knees onstage so that the diminutive LEE could place the HALL OF FAME medallion around his neck. The inductees were honored with surprise performances from several superstars, with KENNY CHESNEY and GEORGE STRAIT separately paying tribute to DILLON, and ERIC CHURCH and ALAN JACKSON each honoring WILLIAMS. Additionally, SHOOTER JENNINGS performed as part of the WILLIAMS tribute, while EMMYLOU HARRIS and CHARLIE WORSHAM joined forces in tribute to STUART, who was also honored in song by ASHLEY McBRYDE. The third performer honoring STUART was TUNICA, MS Pastor EVELYN HUBBARD, a family friend. All of the performers sang songs written by or made famous by the night’s honorees. In addition to LEE, who presented WILLIAMS with his medallion, STRAIT did the honors for DILLON, and STUART received his medallion from his wife and fellow HALL OF FAME member CONNIE SMITH. The ceremony was hosted by COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME CEO KYLE YOUNG. The HALL OF FAME’s class of 2021, members-elect EDDIE BAYERS, RAY CHARLES, PETE DRAKE and THE JUDDS, will be inducted next year.

countrymusicnewsblog.com Wednesday, 24 November 2021 00:25:45
Country Artist / Songwriter Jillian Cardarelli releases the Official Music Video for her new single “Dropped,” available now on YouTube and all streaming platforms. The music video, produced by Dusty Dale Barker with VAYLL, will also begin airing on CMT Music (CMT’s 24-hour music channel) the week of 11/29. The single was written by Kassi Ashton, Johnny Dibb and Emily Landis and produced by award-winning female producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alex Kline. The sultry video highlights lyrics such as “Like a bad habit, baby, I dropped you,” as Cardarelli walks through the character’s home dropping precious items. “This was such a fun video to make,” said Cardarelli. “When you get to take on the lyrics of a song and act them out, it’s just pure fun.” Cardarelli goes on to describes the new single as a fun, sassy take on knowing when to “leave well enough alone” when a relationship is over. Cardarelli says the song exudes confidence, both melodically and lyrically. This is Cardarelli’s follow up to her popular single “If You Had a Heart” that was released earlier this year – all part of her much anticipated debut EP that is scheduled to release in the Spring 2022. “Dropped” is available now on Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music and anywhere you stream music. The Official Music Video for “Dropped” is available on her YouTube Channel and on CMT Music (CMT’s 24-hour music channel) the week of 11/29.
