The Sound with 64 Kb/ sec. is like 50 Years ogo. I hope, that you change your Equipment and can make it better. Dietmar Wichmann, a fan in Germany.

  • 2020 Country Cradles! Country Star Babies Born During the Pandemic

    countrymusicnewsblog.com Tuesday, 13 October 2020 21:16:21

They say out of trial and tribulation only hope can shine a light. If you’re like me, the whole pandemic has sapped a lot of your high spirits right out of you, but as we get ready to start our year in review around here I can’t help but notice that the greatest ray of hope for our future has just been happening panic-be-damned… Country stars as well as the rest of the world are just keepin on keepin the family ties strong as they have brought bundle upon bundle of joy into their lives and ours through the year. Maren Morris and Morgan Wallen are among the first-time parents in 2020, and country couples kept hospitals busy. Thomas Rhett, Jimmie Allen and Shay Mooney also welcomed new babies in 2020, with other stars like Gabby Barrett, Russell Dickerson and David Nail looking forward to new arrivals before the year ends or shortly after. With all this paternal and maternal action happening, and covid restrictions keeping us from popping in on the grandparents, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Luckily there’s sites like Mommyhood101 out there that give great parenting advice from the pros that have been there and done that. From the best gifts for baby girls to how to handle chore charts when the little tikes start growing bigger, Mommyhood101 offers that extra bit of comfort that help get young parents through the learning curve. Other country artists adding to the parent pool in 2020: Dwight Yoakam + Emily JoyceCraig Wayne + Taylor BoydFrankie + Christina BallardTyler + Hayley HubbardHannah Blaylock + Justin WakefieldClay + Brooke CookRhett Akins + Sonya MansfieldDavid + Catherine NailCameron Duddy + Harper SmithJosh + Taylor AbbottChuck + Kasi WicksNeil + Chelsea MasonMo + Emily PitneyClay + Jessica Walker A big heartfelt congratulations goes out to our country music family adding to the ranks in 2020! Aspiring Country trio, Lockeland and award winning Country artist, Tim Rushlow, best known for his high energy performances and his ability to captivate every audience have collaborated on a three song mash-up of “Amy’s Back In Austin,” “What Might Have Been” and “God Bless Texas,” previous hit songs by the country music supergroup, Little Texas, of which Rushlow was lead singer of in the 90’s. The energetic and fun nature of both Lockeland and Rushlow is captured in the footage which was filmed and edited by Kevin Deems, tracked at Blue Grotto Sound, and filmed at 2Twenty2 Studio. Watch the video on YouTube here. “We are very excited to share this video, with not only our wonderful fans, but everyone who loves the great era of 90s country music. Working with Tim Rushlow was such an honor for us,” exclaimed Lockeland. “We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with someone who influenced us so greatly growing up. Not to mention, we all shared many laughs during the whole process!” “Having an up and coming band like Lockeland want to perform the music I made with the guys in Little Texas is a real honor,” exclaimed Tim Rushlow. “They are great guys and sound stellar. I really think they’re headed places and I’m honored I got to be a part of their story. Go get em’ boys!” The idea for the mash-up was cultivated by the love of the 90’s era music and admiration of the easy recognized songs still very popular today. • Going Tiny: Resources, Needs, and Dreams (part two)

    countrymusicnewsblog.com Thursday, 8 October 2020 23:28:09

Last week we covered how we looked at our available resources, and identified our needs when it comes to building this tiny cabin country music community in the foothills of the Ozarks. This week we’ll be taking those resources and needs and showing you how they all play into fulfilling our dreams for the property, and how we’re using Slickdeals.net to pack as much luxury we can into our tight budget! While the property itself will be the forever home of CountryMusicNewsBlog.com‘s founders, that is only one of the many rolls it will serve going forward. This property will also serve as a place for our grown children to come visit, a revenue generator as individual AirBnB cabins, and most importantly, a setting, stage and studio for country music content generation. With all of this in mind we broke down the project into several zones, with the Anchor Buildings being of the highest priority to finish since we are living onsite during the construction. These will be followed by the revenue-generating bunkhouse cabins, then finished out with picturesque performance and content production spaces tucked throughout the property along with the more functional features of a light homestead. THE ANCHOR BUILDINGS: The Master Cabin – This would be the caretaker’s space… a single story building that would house a master bedroom, full sized bath, and living room with space for a kitchenette or office area. With a little forethought, we designed this space to be ADA compliant, realizing that someday we may need those wider doors, a walk-in shower, and overall a generally more accessible floorplan. We already owned this 16’x32′ TDS building, which for years served as a soundproofed recording studio, so it would be the quickest to complete by just moving a wall here and adding some flair there. This is also the space where we upcycled many of the features and furniture from our “Big House” so that we will always have those pieces of our life before the transition. More on that in a future post though. We did add a few new upgrades though, with my favorite being the point-of-use electric hot water heater and full-sized 60inch shower stall that we saved a bundle on using Lowe’s coupons we found on Slickdeals! Going tiny doesn’t have to mean short showers in cramped spaces! The Kitchen/Laundry – Since this property is meant to be a place of gathering, not individual isolation, it made sense (and introduced a world of both financial savings and square footage freed up) to only allow for a small kitchenette with a mini fridge and coffee station in the individual cabins, and instead dedicate one central building to a very large full-service kitchen and laundry available to everyone on the property. Again, we already owned this 12’x24′ TDS building that was formerly finished out to serve as a detached office. We moved it into position and added some high-end custom cabinets we got for a song and dance at the nearby Habitat ReStore Continue reading Going Tiny: Resources, Needs, and Dreams (part two)

  • Going Tiny: Resources, Needs, and Dreams (part one)

    countrymusicnewsblog.com Tuesday, 29 September 2020 00:00:56

Today we’re going to explore some of the planning and budgeting aspects as we continue our journey into building a tiny cabin country music community in the foothills of the Ozarks. While the tiny home concept seems to be everywhere these days, it seems very few people talk about how to make the finance side of things work, both during construction, and long after it’s done. While every project is subject to a million variables, they all start at the same place: A dream, and the drive to achieve it. In our case, we spent years spinning the idea of this tiny cabin community around, first in our heads, then in Pinterest boards, followed by property maps, floorplans, and rough sketches of landscape elevations. We definitely leaned a LOT on the free financial calculators at Pigly.com to help keep us on track, and to take the crucial steps to make sure that our dreams were carefully molded into actionable, reasonable plans. Step 1: Identify our Resources: Our first step was to identify what resources we had available to work with. In most cases we knew this would mean money, but we also knew this would mean available building materials. Since we already owned the land and two of the base building shells, that made it easy to start collecting building materials well in advance. We scoured yard sales and the Habitat ReStore, collected leftover lumber, tile, and cabinetry from friends jobsites, and already owned most of the tools and equipment we would need to do the work ourselves in most cases. This allowed us to trim the bulk of the construction costs down and limit how much we would spend on hiring contractors for specific skilled labor. We also looked at our financial resources to make sure we could afford to make this huge jump without landing in the bottom of an endless pit of debt. We started by using Pigly’s basic cash flow assessment calculator to see where our money was going and where we could benefit the most by making a few adjustments. This was especially helpful since we ran it one way to assess where we were before we started building, and what that cash flow would look like when we would no longer have a giant mortgage over our heads. Step 2: Identify our Needs: Plainly put, we would need this property to pay for itself eventually. That means we would have to build with other people’s needs in mind and have a plan in place that allowed us to rent out one or more cabins in order to cover our base monthly operating expenses. Whether we plan on making the cabins available on a property sharing app like AirBNB or taking on direct long-term tenants is still a discussion we are actively having. It has been really helpful to use Pigly’s Residential Income Calculator to play with the numbers and see that we could not only make enough to keep the property self-maintaining, but actually Continue reading Going Tiny: Resources, Needs, and Dreams (part one)

  • Winners of the 2020 ACM Awards and Show Recap

    countrymusicnewsblog.com Friday, 18 September 2020 00:33:22

In an unprecedented broadcast, the 2020 ACM Awards managed to convey the loneliness and hopeful spirit we’ve all shared as a nation as we wait out this pandemic. Empty seats in venues all across Nashville represented the vast array of spaces that seem to be holding their breath just waiting for fans to be allowed back in. But in those empty spaces, artists seemed even more raw and real than ever. Miranda Lambert made us promises from the Bluebird, while Old Dominion threw speeches out the window and spoke their painful truths. Luke Bryan gave one of his best award show performances to date, as if he knew how badly we all needed a win, and even Carrie Underwood managed to take her energy level up ten-fold to do justice to the women of country she came to honor. All in all, it may be our favorite award show of all time, and although the seats were empty, the fans were still well-represented. • Taylor Swift and the Seven-Year Itch

    countrymusicnewsblog.com Wednesday, 16 September 2020 22:56:43

Australian philosopher Rudolf Steiner had a popular theory that every person life can be broken down into 7-year cycles, based on their astrology. That we tend to change jobs, locations, and even relationships based around that 7-year itch to start anew. Whether there is any truth in that is up to the big heads of the room to debate, but it sure seems that way when you look at country music’s big news today. Taylor Swift is set to make her return to tonight’s ACM Awards broadcast for the first time in SEVEN Years which leads us to question… are country fans having it? Her big breakup with the country music machine made headlines all over the world. Blogs and business journals railed against her. Pop fans welcomed her with open arms. Radio stations had no idea what to do with her until the fans called in to select “their share” of her catalog. But Taylor just went on writing, recording, producing, and releasing. She had a few choice words to say about coming up in the ranks as a country music princess, then she left us all behind like we never mattered at all. And now she’s back. Her new track “Betty” is getting a prime time premiere on an award show she didn’t want to be a part of, and we’re all supposed to herald her return like a saint’s homecoming when there are other artists who have worked all year and paid their dues through community participation and fan dedication who would likely be far more entitled to this niche airtime. It makes a hardcore country music fan wonder what was going on behind the scenes when they planned tonight’s show? Who got the bump to make room for the wayward wanderer? I’m sure Princess Tay’s presence on the show will be great for ratings, but to me it’s just another reminder that the country music machine is made to crush people in its’ cogs, not support them as they rise.
