Dale Ann Bradley and Tina Adair’s Brand New Duet Album ‘Oh Darlin’ Available Now
countrymusicnewsblog.com | Monday, 24 February 2020 20:34:14
Nashville, Tenn. – Today marks the release of Dale Ann Bradley and Tina Adair’s anticipated duet album, Oh Darlin’. Released via Pinecastle Records, the stripped-down collection includes 10 new recordings, which are all centered around both powerhouse singer’s vocals. They’re tackling some of the biggest hits of all-time across multiple genres on the new project (see track listing below). The record is available for download and purchase HERE. “I’m so excited for everyone to hear this project and the songs that we’ve chosen to record,” says Tina Adair. “I love the time period in which most of these songs originated as well as being a huge fan of each artist that originally recorded these songs. Singing and collaborating musically with Dale Ann has been one of the easiest and most rewarding things I’ve ever done in my career.” The lead single and inspiration for the project’s title came in the form of “Oh Darlin.” The track may sound familiar to some music enthusiasts, as it was originally released in 1986 by The O’Kanes, where it went on to hit the Top Ten on the Country charts. Bradley & Adair’s new invigorated version has already begun turning heads in the Bluegrass, Roots and Americana world, having recently debuted at No. 7 on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Airplay Chart. “This collection of songs meant so much to me growing up, and even more so today. There’s so much truth in the lyrics,” says Dale Ann Bradley. “All subject matters are relevant now as they were then. Recording them with Tina Adair was as natural as a drink of water and a blessing. I so hope the older and younger generations listening to acoustic music today, will feel their ancestry and make theirs and their children’s future a bright one.” Many of the songs on the Oh Darlin’ project pay tribute to some of the biggest music legends of all-time. For example, one standout track is a new version of Hank Williams Sr.’s “The Log Train,” which was re-cut with a unique Roots angle. Another familiar tune fans might recognize is “Apartment #9, a track where Bradley & Adair channel their inner Tammy Wynette. The song selection for Oh Darlin’ includes a combination of different material including more fast-paced songs combined with moving ballads, all with Dale Ann Bradley and Tina Adair’s award-winning vocals. If listeners think the combination of Bradley & Adair’s voices together sounds familiar, that’s because they’ve probably heard them perform together as a part of the Grammy-nominated band Sister Sadie. As two of the four founding members, the chart-toppers have hit new heights over the last year. In addition to receiving a Grammy nod, they also made numerous appearances at the Grand Ole Opry, while also taking home the IBMA award for “Vocal Group of the Year” in 2019. Bradley was also recognized earlier this month as the SPBGMA “Female Vocalist of the Year,” which she took home for a second consecutive year. Oh Darlin’ Track Listing: 1. I felt this calling to conquer it and experience the joy and freedom that I know my mom feels every time she gets on her bike,” says Quayle. She continues, “To learn from my mom, my greatest mentor, and share this new bond with her, means the world to me. There’s nothing like it. I’m so grateful to Harley-Davidson for capturing our journey, and hope the series inspires other women to try something new.” Shot at a Harley-Davidson dealership in High Point, NC, and on Stephanie’s beautiful Summerfield Farms, located just outside of Greensboro, the series will show the shared cross-generational love and education for riding between this mother-daughter duo. Their authentic bond that developed from this hobby turned lifestyle gave these two women a deeper connection and provided a unique experience for them to share. Ross Copperman and Nicolle Galyon Honored as “2020 Champions of the Year”; Performances from Michael Ray, Emily Weisband & Blessing Offor Hosted by CMT’s Leslie Fram, the evening honored GRAMMY-nominated songwriters and producers Ross Copperman and Nicolle Galyon as the “2020 Champions of the Year.” The pair were celebrated for their tireless work to champion music education and their commitment to giving back to their hometown music programs in Virginia and Kansas, respectively. “The award for me is the gift I get to give to my hometown. It’s my everything,” said Galyon, referencing Sterling, Kansas. She was introduced by Ben Vaughn, President & CEO, Warner/Chappell, who shared heartfelt sentiments about her authenticity, dedication, and unparalleled talent that has touched so many others. Galyon expressed how honored and humbled she was for the honor and her gratitude that funds were allowing a creative outlet for students, something she herself needed at an early age. “What I was wanting was someone to hand me a blank page and ask me what I wanted to put on it,” she shared. Copperman reiterated her sentiments and praised the work of both SongFarm.org and Save The Music to give students opportunities and tools to succeed. “This whole thing is not about me at all. It’s about Save The Music.” He was introduced by friend and colleague, Josh Van Valkenburg, Senior Vice President, Nashville A&R, Sony/ATV, who echoed Copperman’s selfless nature and influence on the industry and beyond, particularly with students at his alma mater in Roanoke, Virginia. The most moving speech of the night came from Steve Franco, Copperman’s drama teacher at Glenvar High School, who talked glowingly about Copperman and the impact he has had on students through SongFarm.org, co-founded alongside GRAMMY award winner F. Gareth Leach Releases Brilliant “Down the Rabbit Hole” Music Video
countrymusicnewsblog.com | Wednesday, 19 February 2020 20:36:06
Just recently, Gareth Leach dropped his latest singles (double A) Down the Rabbit Hole and Old Crow Feather landing at #4 on the iTunes Country Singles chart, lifted from his forthcoming album. Alongside that, came the official music video for Down the Rabbit Hole, produced and directed by Gareth’s talented wife, Jade Robinson, and features family members, including their own children, nieces and nephews. WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR “DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE” BELOW Gareth’s debut album Death & Taxes launched him out of the relatively unknown and into the Australian country and alt-country music scene as a heart-on-your-sleeve, introspective and honest singer-songwriter. Dealing with personal struggles, social fears and anxieties, the two songs are a sneak peak in to some of the themes of the new album. Gareth on “Down the Rabbit Hole” — “As a schoolteacher and father, I have seen and have become increasingly concerned with the mental health of our kids. Growing up in an age where technology is so deeply integrated in to every life, especially through social media, the aftermath being a generation of people growing up with addictions to their devices and without really strong connections to their community and people in the real world causing a scary rise in childhood depression and anxiety. At first, I was angry with these kids and couldn’t understand why they were so obsessed with their devices and technology. Then I began to look around and realised that there is so much bad modeling of behavior to these kids from their parents – US! We grew up with very little education about such things and as a result you see parents and adults with their heads buried in their phones or devices all the time. We’re too busy scrolling through newsfeeds and comparing lives with everyone around them and their projection of “perfect”, “successful” and “happy”, so much so that we are not fully present at our kids footy games, school concerts, dance recitals, and the list goes on. And we’re nearly all guilty of it. This song is a reminder of this scary reality of us as a society getting so far lost “Down the Rabbit Hole” that we are neglecting to emotionally foster our future – the kids. Musically set to upbeat yet dark bluegrassy instrumentation, the purpose of this song is to slap the listener in the face and say, “Hey, listen up. We need to have a talk!””
