Jimmie Allen, John Marks & Aaron Benward Launch JAB Entertainment
countrymusicnewsblog.com Tuesday, 7 December 2021 20:48:00
In an expansion of their respective business ventures, Jimmie Allen, Aaron Benward and John Marks have launched JAB Entertainment, a full-service management and production company. The trio serve as partners for the company, which is based in Nashville. Allen is a multi-platinum country artist and reigning CMA New Artist of the Year & ACM New Male Artist of the Year. He is currently nominated for Best New Artist at the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards, the only country nominee in the all-genre categories. Benward is an award-winning, platinum-selling recording artist, multi-hit songwriter, film and television producer, music supervisor and a founder of the Park City Song Summit. Marks was most recently Global Director of Country Music at Spotify. In that role, he was instrumental in growing the music streaming platform’s Hot Country brand, championing new artists, and establishing Spotify’s footprint in Nashville. JAB Entertainment’s inaugural artist sign is Neon Union – the first Black & white duo in country music – comprised of Leo Brooks & Andrew Millsaps. After seeing both perform as solo artists, Allen introduced the two of them with the suggestion to join forces for a first of its kind duo. The connection was instant and their sound different than anything that had come before – 808 kick drums married to a traditional country lyric and anthemic pop melodies. Their first single, “Beer Up” is slated to drop on December 30 through a distribution deal with EMPIRE. They can currently be heard on the track “Livin’ Man” off Allen’s latest album Bettie James Gold Edition. Connect with them on Instagram, TikTok and https://www.neonunionmusic.com/. “I’ve been friends with Aaron for years – he’s a brother to me,” Allen says. “We’ve always wanted to work together and decided to launch JAB Entertainment.” “Jimmie has been my little brother ever since he moved to Nashville. We’ve written songs together, played basketball together, endured tough times together and gone through the greatest of times together – but now it’s time to build together, and that’s why we started JAB Entertainment,” states Benward. Of joining as partner, Marks says: “It wasn’t long ago that Jimmie and Aaron invited me to see their new duo Neon Union in Nashville. I watched their set, saw their on stage chemistry and knew I needed to be a part of this history making duo. It’s an honor to be joining JAB Entertainment with Jimmie and Aaron and to bring Neon Union’s message of great music, BIG fun and unity to the world.” Brooks grew up in Miami and was first handed an acoustic guitar by his father and introduced to the music of George Jones and Hank Williams at the age of four. His first audition was for the legendary Lauryn Hill right out of high school, for whom he eventually became her Musical Director. Brooks went on to become a GRAMMY Award-winning collaborator for artists including Pitbull, Hill, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Ceelo Green and John Legend. Millsaps was born in Surry County, NC and started playing guitar and writing music at 13. The official start Continue reading Jimmie Allen, John Marks & Aaron Benward Launch JAB Entertainment→

Randy Rogers Band Caps 2021 With Big Honors
countrymusicnewsblog.com Tuesday, 7 December 2021 01:46:10
Texas Country mainstays Randy Rogers Band have had a big year in 2021, capping off their calendar with a notable honor for frontman Randy Rogers, who was selected as the honorary Grand Marshal of the 2022 Texas Cavaliers River Parade. The annual event will take place on April 4 and this year’s theme is “Texas Alfresco,” or “Texas Outdoors,” which will be on display via the floats and decorations. “There’s never been a better time to celebrate our Texas outdoor quality of life and education for children and our community than during these challenging times,” Rogers said at a press conference when the honor was announced. In September, Rogers had another personal achievement to celebrate when he launched his new whiskey brand, Bahnbrëcker, the world’s first Hefeweizen-style whiskey. The drink was inspired by an ideal Texas summer day spent floating down the river in New Braunfels, Texas and can be found in select Texas venues and retail establishments with nationwide shipping available. Rogers and bandmates Geoffrey Hill (guitar), Jon Richardson (bass guitar), Brady Black (fiddle), Les Lawless (drums), and Todd Stewart (guitar, fiddle, mandolin, keyboards), are currently on the road, traveling the country supporting Cody Jinks and with a series of headline shows extending into January 2022. That month, the group will headline The MusicFest (1/7) and Mile 0 Fest (1/28) and will share the stage with George Strait and Willie Nelson for a two-night stint in Austin, Texas on April 29 and April 30. Randy Rogers Band’s latest road run is concurrent with the release of their most recent single, “Picture Frames,” which arrived in October and is currently in the Top 10 on the Texas Country Music Chart. Written by Rogers with Drew Kennedy and produced by hit Country songwriter and artist Radney Foster, the “timeless song of enduring love” (Billboard) finds the group reminiscing about fond memories they’ve shared with the one they love while looking at photos on a smartphone. “Picture Frames” is the first taste of music from the band’s upcoming album, which is due in the spring and will celebrate Randy Rogers Band’s 20th anniversary. The as-yet-unannounced project will follow the group’s eighth studio album, 2019’s HELLBENT.

Country Music Hall Of Fame Inducts Dean Dillon, Marty Stuart And Hank Williams Jr. – The Judds & Ray Charles to be Inducted Next Year
countrymusicnewsblog.com Thursday, 25 November 2021 00:21:54
After a COVID-related pause, the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME began to get caught up last night (11/21) with a gala ceremony inducting its class of 2020, songwriter DEAN DILLON and artist/writers MARTY STUART and HANK WILLIAMS JR. The ceremony, held at the CMA THEATER inside the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM, was highlighted by little moments, two of them involving 1997 inductee BRENDA LEE. After rising star BRITTNEY SPENCER brought the house down with her tribute to DILLON, performing his song, “TENNESSEE Whiskey,” LEE shouted out from the audience in appreciate of SPENCER, “Let’s all go home. I give up. I quit.” Later, inductee WILLIAMS drew laughs when he dropped to his knees onstage so that the diminutive LEE could place the HALL OF FAME medallion around his neck. The inductees were honored with surprise performances from several superstars, with KENNY CHESNEY and GEORGE STRAIT separately paying tribute to DILLON, and ERIC CHURCH and ALAN JACKSON each honoring WILLIAMS. Additionally, SHOOTER JENNINGS performed as part of the WILLIAMS tribute, while EMMYLOU HARRIS and CHARLIE WORSHAM joined forces in tribute to STUART, who was also honored in song by ASHLEY McBRYDE. The third performer honoring STUART was TUNICA, MS Pastor EVELYN HUBBARD, a family friend. All of the performers sang songs written by or made famous by the night’s honorees. In addition to LEE, who presented WILLIAMS with his medallion, STRAIT did the honors for DILLON, and STUART received his medallion from his wife and fellow HALL OF FAME member CONNIE SMITH. The ceremony was hosted by COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME CEO KYLE YOUNG. The HALL OF FAME’s class of 2021, members-elect EDDIE BAYERS, RAY CHARLES, PETE DRAKE and THE JUDDS, will be inducted next year.
