It’s not often that a company sends us a product that we absolutely rave about here at CMNB headquarters, but the Ambush Mosquito Trap has won our endorsement and adoration! As many of our readers already know, we’ve been slowly working on turning our headquarters into a Tiny Cabin Country Music Compound, and with that comes a LOT of outdoor work. We’re digging trenches, plotting gardens, raising chickens, and of course, working all day in open buildings that aren’t quite sealed against the elements. Last summer we were swarmed by all manner of biting bugs, and it made the work almost unbearable, so when we got a surprise package from AmbushMosquitoTraps.com a couple months ago, we were thrilled, but skeptical. According to the website, the mosquito trap is designed to attract and trap the pesky flesh-munchers from up to a 1/2 acre radius, keeping them off our skin and caught neatly in the little basket on the underside of the device. Of course, it arrived in the same week the whole region turned into a popsicle landscape, so we had to wait until the world thawed to try it out. Once we set up the device, which involved plugging in a cord and setting the bait cake in the little tray (super easy), we went back to construction as usual, and thought nothing of it. And then the rain came… followed by very warm days. If you live in the midwest then you know. Rain + Sun = Mosquito Heaven! Yet strangely enough, we weren’t getting eaten alive! It could have been the trap. It could have been the deep freeze How could we know? After 2 weeks of gorgeous spring weather, perfect breeding conditions, and the disassembling of a neighbor’s above ground pool, the proof was in the bag though. Literally IN THE BAG. You see, the Ambush Mosquito Trap has a neat and tidy mesh basket built into its underside, and as I was cleaning the yard for our first big mow of the season, I and checked it, and to my morbid fascination I found over 2 inches of captured dead pests! The trap was doing its job and then some! I detached the basket and dumped its contents. It’s now a few mows in, TONS of time outdoors later, and I am still bite-free, a small miracle in my world, and I give 100% of the credit to the Ambush Mosquito Trap! * This post is marked as Sponsored because the product was sent to us without charge. All opinions are our own and not influenced by anyone or anything other than the quality of the product itself… trust me… if it sucked then you wouldn’t be reading about it on our site 😉 Cheers! ~WC~

In This Exclusive First Look, Travis Reflects on His Powerful Performance of “Amazing Grace” at the 2016 Country Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony, Three Years After Enduring a Debilitating Stroke—Watch It Here AXS TV presents an all-new episode of the popular celebrity profile series The Big Interview With Dan Rather, as the veteran newsman joins Country music icon Randy Travis and his wife Mary for a rare sit-down airing Wednesday, January 27 at 8pmEST/5pmPST. During the conversation—filmed remotely utilizing both Zoom and in-person camera teams—Travis, through his wife, explains his road to recovery and the fight to regain his mobility, speech, and singing seven years after enduring a debilitating stroke; and the couple share their incredible love story and the pivotal moment Mary knew her husband was ready to keep fighting for his life. In this exclusive first look, Travis—with the aid of his wife, who is on hand to serve as his voice due to the results of his stroke—reflects on his powerful rendition of “Amazing Grace” at the 2016 Country Music Hall Of Fame induction ceremony, an unforgettable performance he had unwittingly begun laying the groundwork for two years prior while in physical therapy. “That’s where a little girl named Tracy, who had a music degree, would come in on her lunch hour, bring her keyboard and started teaching Randy melody and song again,” Mary explains. “She started teaching him ‘Amazing Grace’… and the words all came back to him.” After two months of solely working on forming the letter ‘A,’ Travis was able to regain the following letters at an exponential pace. “We spent probably six hours a day running through that song,” she recalls, “trying to get through all four verses and learning the words.” Travis’ time and dedication, and Mary’s unwavering love and support, were ultimately rewarded with an incredible moment that brought the world of Country music to its feet. Mary continues, “I think when I put that microphone in his hand, he became Randy Travis again. It was absolutely beautiful.” Watch it here. In July 2020 Randy Travis released “Fool’s Love Affair,” a never before heard single, on the anniversary of his first release “On The Other Hand.” “Fool’s Love Affair” has introduced a new generation of country music fans to a true icon of the genre. Still racking up 20,000 streams a day and climbing the Texas Regional Radio Chart, Travis is still a force to be reckoned with. Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley is Making a Musical?
countrymusicnewsblog.com Monday, 25 January 2021 23:57:57
Lively McCabe Entertainment and CuzBro Productions, the production company founded by Brian Kelley – of the multi-platinum, award-winning duo Florida Georgia Line – and partners Stephen Snedden and Justin Halliwell, have teamed with filmmaker Andy Fickman to direct the upcoming musical feature, “MAY WE ALL.” The previously announced stage musical with eyes on a commercial residency in Nashville, TN, was to have held a developmental production in November 2020 at Playhouse on the Square in Memphis, TN, but has had that production delayed to later in 2021 due to the pandemic. Lively McCabe Entertainment and CuzBro Productions also produce the stage musical, along with music giant BMG. “MAY WE ALL” is a story of disappearing small-town America as seen through the hopeful eyes of its youth. Jenna Coates, a fledgling country singer, reluctantly comes home after a rough start in Nashville, TN, ultimately to discover that her roots may take her a lot further than her dreams. The musical celebrates America’s heartland and features the music of such diverse country greats as Tim McGraw, Sara Evans, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, Shania Twain, Kacey Musgraves, Chris Stapleton, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, John Denver, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, The Chicks, Old Dominion, Jessica Andrews, and LOCASH, among others. Two original songs that were co-written by FGL’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard are also featured in the score, which will debut exclusively in the project. The stage iteration of “MAY WE ALL” features a book by Troy Britton Johnson, Todd Johnson, and Eric Pfeffinger, with arrangements and orchestrations by Brian Usifer, and is directed by Shelley Butler. “My partners and I are really excited to welcome Andy [Fickman] to the ‘MAY WE ALL’ fam! Not only do we connect on a country music-lovin’ level, but I admire his work as a director and truly believe he’ll bring the heart of our script to life,” shares Kelley. “It’s been a long time coming and I can’t wait for everyone to finally be able to enjoy ‘MAY WE ALL’ – from the stage to the big screen.” “Growing up in Texas, loving country music, and being a massive Florida Georgia Line fan, it is a dream come true to be joining the ‘MAY WE ALL’ creative team,” says Fickman. “The script uses powerful, heartwarming songs from some of country music’s most celebrated artists to examine the complexities of how our hometowns shape and mold our hopes and aspirations. I can’t wait for the world to join us on this uplifting, musical journey.”
