  • Reverie Lane’s “Good at It” in Rolling Stone Country’s ’10 Best Country Songs to Hear Now’

    countrymusicnewsblog.com | Wed, 16 Oct 2019 12:00:50 +0000

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Powerhouse vocal duo Presley Tucker and Spencer Bartoletti of Reverie Lane are “Good at It” in Rolling Stone Country’s ‘10 Best Country, Americana Songs to Hear Now.’ The song, from their debut EP  Women & Trains, “showcases the pair’s voices, which remain closely entwined in harmony throughout” (Rolling Stone Country / Robert Crawford). The video featured in Rolling Stone Country was directed by Derrek Kupish of dkupish productions. Women & Trains is available on iTunes, Spotify and wherever music is sold. Reverie Lane is currently touring North America with music icon Tanya Tucker before they embark for 5 performances across Australia for C2C Australia and 7 shows in the UK (full list of tour dates below). Like some of the greatest country stories, Reverie Lane’s began on a barstool at one of Nashville’s famous Broadway honky-tonks. After bonding over a love of classic country music and storytelling, Spencer and Presley started writing songs together. Writing together became singing together, and singing together led to the formation of Reverie Lane. Early on, Spencer and Presley’s unique artistry grabbed the attention of the late Bill Ham, veteran music manager (ZZ Top and Clint Black) and founder of Lone Wolf Management and Wolftracks Music Publishing, who signed them to a development deal. Since then, the duo has achieved some of the milestones of which many musicians dream, including performing on stage at the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium alongside Presley’s mother, Tanya Tucker. Most recently, Spencer and Presley signed a publishing deal with Dan Hodges Music, where they’ve been writings with some of Nashville’s foremost writers, and a management deal with Dreamlined Entertainment, where they’ve been in the studio with producer Jen Stegall. • New Music from Singer-Songwriter Campbell Harrison

    countrymusicnewsblog.com | Wed, 09 Oct 2019 13:03:55 +0000

Emerging Singer-Songwriter Campbell Harrison releases New Single “Underneath the Skin”  “Underneath the Skin evokes the nostalgia sounds of the 70’s with a modern presentation “ NASHVILLE, TN (October 7, 2019) Singer-songwriter Campbell Harrison released a new single “Underneath the Skin” October 4th, 2019 to all digital download and streaming retailers.  Campbell who was raised in the diverse music culture of Atlanta, GA moved to Nashville last year to immerse himself in the music city culture of songwriting and music.   “Underneath the Skin” is a hopeful, yet lamenting tune about love, loss, acceptance, and the possibility of new growth. The title lyrics “Underneath the Skin” imply that not all which is gone is lost forever, and some things stick with you, for better or worse. The upbeat and major tones of the song paired with the somewhat melancholy subject matter forms a juxtaposition that helps to illustrate the hopefulness hidden within loss. Harrison  wrote and composed the single and co-produced the song with songwriter Gavin Huburt in Nashville. The single takes you on a nostalgic journey back to the 70’s which makes sense since Campbell was raised in the southern hippie culture. He keeps himself centered and his personal values at the forefront of his music.  He is a young man who knows what he wants and is willing to get there on his talent, drive and love of music.  Fame is not his intention. His goal is to be acknowledged as a serious artist who makes powerful music. Campbell, said, “I compare myself to the best, not the worst. If you want to be the best then that’s the metric by which you have to critique yourself.” “Underneath the Skin” is sneaky in a way because the subject matter is a bit sad, but it’s presented in a lighthearted and fun way because of  the orchestration of music and the production. If you don’t pay attention to the lyrics, you would almost  think that it was a “windows down, highway song.” Harrison says, “I would say there is an element of duality in this song that reflects the complex nature of human relationships. Happy and sad are not necessarily opposing ends of the same string and can exist simultaneously, just like the happy, major sounding chords played underneath the melancholy subject matter of the lyrics. I hope that people are able to grasp onto the message and relate to it. Maybe it will remind them of a past relationship or maybe they will just enjoy the bouncy groove of it. Either way, I want them to get a hopeful and constructive attitude from it.” On the heels of his successful album release Dreamer in a Bottle (2017), Campbell Harrison is going to be releasing newly developed songs and content into and through the new year. He is currently making his way through writer rounds in Nashville, working with some of the best songwriters born from music city.

  • Kelsey Waldon Releases White Noise/White Lines on Oh Boy Records

    countrymusicnewsblog.com | Mon, 07 Oct 2019 12:15:41 +0000

Kelsey Waldon Releases White Noise/White Lines on Oh Boy Records Available everywhere now; fall tour underway. “Waldon’s music is a mix of storytelling, that high-lonesome sound, and the dangerous chug of Waymore’s Outlaws, filtered through her fresh perspective and emotive voice…it’s no wonder Oh Boy snatched her up.”

 -Rolling Stone

October 4, 2019 – Nashville, TN -Monkey’s Eyebrow, KY, native Kelsey Waldon is proud to release White Noise/White Lines. Co-Produced by Waldon and Dan Knobler, her much-anticipated third album releases today via John Prine’s independent label, Oh Boy Records. Click here to purchase and stream. In addition to opening a number of dates for Prine, Waldon is embarking on a lengthy headlining tour in support of the album with newly announced dates including Oct. 9th at Mercury Lounge in New York City, Oct. 18th at Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Nov 1. at The Station Inn in Nashville, and Nov. 22 Cactus Cafe in Austin. A full list of tour dates can be found below. Ticket information can be found here. White Noise/White Lines is riddled with unique touches, very personal to Waldon. From the Chickasaw Tribe chant which Waldon recorded on her cell phone at her father’s hunting camp—added to the record with their blessing, of course—to a voicemail recording of Waldon’s father who’d called to tell her he’d heard her on the radio, to a snippet of her friends playing the bluegrass classic “Run Rabbit Run”; little moments and memories dropped into the album’s tracklist speak worlds to Waldon’s deep connection with her roots, her family, and her home state of Kentucky. All of these threads run tirelessly through White Noise/White Lines, weaving together a decidedly country sound, but not without some of Waldon’s unique influences shining through. The Band and The Meters, to Hazel Dickens and Ralph Stanley, to Ann Peebles and Bill Withers have all left their imprint on how Waldon fleshes out her songs. On Tour: Oct. 8 – Washington, DC – Songbyrd Music House Oct. 9 – New York, NY – Mercury Lounge (Zephaniah Ohora opens) Oct. 12 – Springfield, MO – Juanita K.
