GENRE-BENDING SINGER, SONGWRITER, MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST KRISTEN CASTRO RELEASES MUSIC VIDEO FOR “SURRENDER” VIDEO PRODUCED AND EDITED BY KRISTEN HERSELF DEBUTS EXCLUSIVELY ON GRAMMY.COM WATCH NOW Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist KRISTEN CASTRO began her professional music career at GRAMMY Camp back in 2010, and since then she has experienced a lot of growth. After several years as a member of Maybe April, the country/Americana trio she co-founded, Kristen is now relishing her newest chapter as a solo artist. Last month she released “Surrender,” a deeply personal track which Kristen wrote in the aftermath of losing someone she wasn’t ready to let go of at the time. Today, October 18, GRAMMY.com has the exclusive premiere of the music video; watch now. The video was produced and edited by Kristen herself and the track features bassist Matt Bissonette (Elton John) and drummer Sergio Gonzalez (Jennifer Lopez, Keb’ Mo’). “I wanted the video to be about someone carrying memories to a waterfall trying to make sense of a heartbreak, but at the end they surrender to letting go and letting the water take it where it will,” Kristen shared with GRAMMY.com. “The pink hue throughout the video gives a visual feel of love and the abstract performance shots are meant for the listener to focus on the story and song.” Kristen, currently living in Nashville, is grateful for her long-standing relationship with the GRAMMY organization. Aside from attending several GRAMMY Camps, she has taken part in GRAMMY At The Schools events and been asked to participate in commercial ad campaigns. “I wouldn’t be the person or musician I am today without them,” Kristen shares. “Ever since being selected to attend my first GRAMMY Camp in 2010, I’ve gone through so many changes and learned so much. All the different opportunities the GRAMMY organization has given me, the many friends I have made and the three camps I attended has truly been life changing. “They have given me the confidence to never stop believing in myself or what my music has to say. From playing guitar with Keith Urban, to a backstage songwriting experience with Brandi Carlile, to being around young emerging artists who were so talented at camp and who are now playing in bands with huge artists across the country – it’s that kind of stuff that has grounded me as an artist, kept me being a dreamer and made me grateful to the people that have helped shaped me along the way.” “Surrender” follows the release of Kristen’s song and video “Bloom,” which critics have described as “dazzling,” “captivating,” “beautiful,” and “dreamy,” as well as “one of the best dream-pop songs so far this year, a song of full-spectrum allure and loveliness.” There will be more new music released in early 2020.

Caroline Watkins Releases Debut Song “Drunk Girls In Bathrooms” Nashville Native Signed Warner/Chappell Publishing Deal While Still In High School “So wouldn’t the world be nice If we were all more like Drunk girls in bathrooms” NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 18, 2019) — Singer/Songwriter Caroline Watkins, who signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music before she graduated from high school, has released her debut song “Drunk Girls In Bathrooms.” The song is the first of several new songs from the Nashville native slated for release in 2019. Watkins music is produced by Jason Massey, who co-produced Kelsea Ballerini’s first 2 projects. Caroline Watkins on “Drunk Girls In Bathrooms:” “Drunk girls in bathrooms is a song that definitely comes from a lot of personal experience. There’s a karaoke bar in Nashville that my friends and I always go to, and one night we were talking about how no matter who we meet there, the “drunk girls” in the bathroom are always so nice to each other. I started thinking about how that’s true in any bar bathroom, anywhere – we are always either complimenting each other or telling a random stranger not to text her ex or helping someone get the vodka-cran stain out of her jeans. I love that, and I wish we were all like that all the time, so I went home and wrote ‘Drunk Girls in Bathrooms’ – almost as a joke, and then all of a sudden it became so much more than just a funny little song. And the fact that it resonates so well with so many girls when I play it live, just tells me that so many other girls agree” Grammy Award-winning songwriter Liz Rose on Caroline Watkins: “Caroline Watkins is truly an original! A singer/ songwriter that has a big future ahead.” In addition to writing for Warner/Chappell, Watkins is represented by Creative Artists Agency. “Drunk Girls In Bathrooms” can be found at all major online retailers. NASHVILLE SCENE NAMES JENNY TOLMAN’S THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD BEST COUNTRY DEBUT ALBUM NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 18, 2019) — Move over, strong women of country, and make way for Nashville native Jenny Tolman. With equal parts savvy and sass, Tolman’s There Goes the Neighborhood is taking Music City by storm, with Nashville Scene recently selecting Tolman’s new release as Writers’ Choice “Best Country Debut Album.” As Scene writer Brittney McKenna notes in choosing Tolman’s collection, “Nashville can be a tough town for women making country music,” but Tolman counters that dose of reality, she says, by concocting her own dreamworld, a fictional city at the heart of her debut compilation. “[By] offering glimpses at colorful characters who speak larger truths about small-town life,” McKenna adds, “Tolman is as compelling a vocalist and songwriter as she is world-builder.” The video for “There Goes the Neighborhood,” directed by Christina Cooper, premiered Oct. 7 on the popular website Sounds Like Nashville. Featuring personal friends of Tolman, the video takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to Jennyville, a make-believe burg full of gossipy women who are at once lovable and neurotic, catty and competitive. The object of their affection and attention is the new town hottie, though ultimately the joke is on these desperate, overly enthusiastic women. “There’s a huge thread of self-perception and body image … and a whole take on all of society’s pressures,” Tolman says of the songs on Neighborhood. “That, to me in my life, is the most prevalent issue right now: women empowerment and women disempowerment at the same time.” In the end, Tolman says, she takes pride in her individuality, much like the women she admires in country music—Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton—strong women who have all penned songs reflecting humor and wisdom, who confidently poke fun at themselves while firmly believing in their unique gifts.

Her childhood struggles grew into a risk taking teenager. Austin, TX —The power duo of Kevin Fowler and Roger Creager — also known as Dos Borrachos — just released a brand new song and music video from their forthcoming eponymous debut. Consider the single, aptly titled “Dos Borrachos,” a bit of an origin story. The album opener even starts with Roger kindly explaining to Kevin just why they’ve been called “dos borrachos” and what it means. A swaggering waltz laced with all the trappings of traditional Texas country and a fair amount of Tejano flavor, “Dos Borrachos” is a fun-filled anthem that certainly cues the listener in for what’s to come. “Can’t think of a better way to kick off this record than with this song,” says Roger Creager. “It’s the party all rolled into one big singalong.” And if the song itself weren’t enough, the new music video illustrates the party perfectly. “When you watch the video, it doesn’t take long to see how much fun we have when we get together with a bunch of rowdy fans down in Mexico,” Fowler says. Filmed earlier this year during the duo’s Big Cabo Fest, the video features plenty of rowdy times with fans and fellow musicians who make the trip down to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Go from the beach, to poolside, to late night parties with Fowler, Creager and friends. And if you’re watching the video wishing you could’ve been there, here’s some good news: Dos Borrachos have officially announced the public on sale for 2020’s Big Cabo Fest down in Mexico. The musical resort retreat will take place June 7th-11th. Produced by Dickson Productions (of Music Fest fame), the getaway is quickly growing into one of Texas country’s most unique festivals. “Kevin and Roger are powerhouses in the Texas music scene,” John Dickson of Dickson Productions says. “The combination of both on a stage results in an exceptional and unique music experience that creates a good times atmosphere second to none. Take that combo to a luxury Cabo resort and you have an upscale beach vacation for good times like no other.” Head to BigCaboFest.com for tickets and more information right now. Watch the video for “Dos Borrachos” here. Dos Borrachs’ debut album comes out on November 15th. The pair will also do a limited run of Texas tour dates in support of the album.
