Besides Jensen, he learned about History of Education and teaching primary sources as a graduate assistant to Jurgen Herbst, Constitutional History and the Supreme Court from Stanley Kutler, American government and political parties from Austin Ranney. Since March of 2013, the Virtual Center has delivered 6 hours per week of live, fully interactive internet programs on the Constitution of the United States – its origins, meaning, and development through the nation’s long, at times tortuous history. With special focus on America’s founders, their ideals, vision, long-term hopes, and defining assumptions – The Center has devoted critical attention to the role of the Supreme Court in refining the Constitution’s meaning and relevance in a changing nation. The mission of The Virtual Center is to establish greater understanding and respect for the nation’s founders through informed, critical conversation within the community at-large. Unlike such centers elsewhere, The Virtual Center targets as its principal audience, not so much research historians, media merchants of particular ideologies, legal professionals, or scholars in the traditional sense, but the public at-large average citizens, young and not-so-young, who care about and want to know more about the republic and ways best to improve it.
