  • Ghanaian Artiste Blasts Oberempong CP of Adom FM, Who should we blame? - Queen Let [Video]

    accra24.com | Sun, 07 Apr 2019 00:00:00 +0000

Gospel Vocalist Queen Let of Leticia And Adom FM's Nana Agyei Oberempong CP
    Report reaching GhanaChurch.com indicates that, news anchor at Multimedia Group Limited, Adom FM 106.3 MHz's Nana Agyei Oberempong CP, who double as a Prophet of God, shared a video on Facebook, which was tagged;

"THE WICKEDNESS IN GHANAIAN CHRISTIANS EXPOSED! WATCH AND YOU WILL BE SHOCKED!"

Hence, Oberempong CP expressed how disappointed he was, with the charismatic churches in Ghana. And have refused to sing Ghanaian gospel in their churches, instead they sing foreign gospel songs.

He said it is very bad because churches like ICGC and Action Chapel are examples of such churches who are refusing to market made in Ghana products.

Therefore, Queen Let, a Ghanaian gospel musician , who host a popular live Programs on Facebook called "Safety First" has come out to reply Oberempong CP.

Even more, Ghanaian-German Gospel Vocalist, a songwriter, a composer and a German nurse, Queen Leticia of Leticia Kyerewaa Dampare and also known as Leticia Hars , in showbiz as Queen Let blasts Oberempong CP.

Most noteworthy, religion cannot be influenced by anybody and to sing Twi or English songs in ones church is a thing of a choice.

So, in Queen Let's Video, she asked Oberempong CP of Adom FM if he will choose one of Apostle Kojo Sarfo's car if someone wants to buy a car as a gift for him?

And he also asked Oberempong why Joy FM speaks English and Adom FM speaks Twi ? Further more, Queen Let then made him to understand that, church is a Business and the church leaders provide what their members want.

Also, one cannot force any church to make a choice of a particular language for Service.

Above all, Queen Let emphatically told the gospel musicians who sing in Ghanaian language to brand their songs better in other to attract churches Who are refusing to sing their songs.

  • Ghana EC to compile new voters’ register for 2020 elections

    accra24.com | Thu, 28 Mar 2019 18:34:00 +0000

The Electoral Commission has announced it will compile a new voters’ register ahead of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary election.

The decision was reached Wednesday at an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting, four years after the Commission rejected the idea for a new voters’ register to be compiled.

Calls for a new voters’ register intensified in 2015 but were rejected by the EC,  triggering series of protests from pro-New Patriotic Party groups which argued the then register for the 2016 general elections was bloated.

However, a panel chaired by the late Justice V.C.R.A.C. Crabbe was subsequently constituted by the EC to look into the validity of the calls for a new register.

After soliciting views from stakeholders and Ghanaians, the independent panel concluded the arguments by the NPP for a new voters’ register were “unconvincing” and accordingly rejected same.

“The panel is of the view that the responsibility for having a clean and credible register is the shared responsibility of all citizens of Ghana,” the EC said in a statement at the time.

But IPAC after extensive deliberations on the matter on Wednesday, March 27,agreed for a new register to be compiled for the next elections which is less than 2 years from now.

A statement from the EC said “the Commission will compile a new voters’ register ahead of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections,” but did not give details as to when the exercise will be conducted.

Limited registration for district level elections

Ghana EC to compile new voters’ register for 2020 elections
At Wednesday’s meeting, it was also agreed among stakeholders for a limited registration of new voters to be organized by the EC in May ahead of the upcoming district level election and referendum.

The limited registration exercise, the EC said, will take place across all its district officers nationwide.

It said the district level elections and the referendum will be held the same day in the last quarter of 2019.

The EC said the timetable and roadmap for the district level elections, the referendum and other activities of the Commission will be made public in the first week of April this year.

    Inspection of party offices

Meanwhile, the EC said it has begun inspection of political parties’ offices across the country and that “a comprehensive report on the findings of the inspection would be made available to stakeholders by the end of May 2019”.

On the issue of audited accounts of political parties, it the EC has since March 21 this year published the report as required by law, but observed that most of the audited accounts submitted by the parties did not meet international audit standards.

In view of this, the Commission has agreed to prepare a draft Constitutional Instrument to regulate and streamline the format of financial returns and audited accounts of political parties.

  • NPP gov’t has made corruption an attractive venture – Sammy Gyamfi

    accra24.com | Thu, 28 Mar 2019 18:19:00 +0000

    Mr. Sammy Gyamfi
Speaking on TV3’s New Day on Wednesday, Sammy Gyamfi said corruption cases like the visa racketeering that rocked Ghana’s 2018 Commonwealth Games participation justify the wide perception that the current government is steeped in graft.

He was speaking after a Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam-Hadzide, touted the passage of the RTI Bill, on Tuesday, as a great step in the fight against corruption by the government.

Mr Enam-Hadzide said the government deserves praise for making sure that the Bill, which has been in and out of Parliament, has finally been passed.

But Sammy Gyamfi directly pointed out to the Deputy Minister that he was an example of corruption in the current government, citing how the latter was cleared by the president in the probe into the Commonwealth Games case.

Mr Enam-Hadzide was the Deputy Youth and Sports Minister when the case happened.

The Deputy Information Minister, however, strongly disagreed with the NDC national officer for his assertions.

But Sammy Gyamfi insisted: “You are the worst government when it comes to the fight against corruption”.

He rather saw the passage of the RTI Bill as a “significant achievement for the country” and no single government can lay claim to its passage.

He observed that it is a feather in the cup of Ghana as a beacon of democracy in Africa.

  • Asamoah Gyan loses 'big' again in Sarah Kwablah rape case - Lawyer Maurice Ampaw [Video]

    accra24.com | Thu, 21 Mar 2019 00:00:00 +0000

Ghana Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan, Sarah Kwablah  and Lawyer Maurice Ampaw
The year 2019 appears to have not started well for Black Stars Skipper, Asamoah Gyan who after being ‘humiliated’ in his bid to claim his three children are not his, has suffered yet another defeat this time at an Accra Circuit Court.

The player was seeking to claim a certain Sarah Kwablah and three others including Osarfo Anthony, Chris Handler and Ekow Micah tried extorting money from him using the former as a bait but he failed to back the claim with substantial evidence according to the court in its ruling on Wednesday March 20, 2019.

Trial Judge Her Honour Afia Agbanu Kumador therefore upheld the submission of a no case filed by counsel for defendants explaining that the prosecution had not been able to prove that a prima facie case has been established against the accused persons.

Asamoah Gyan last year confessed he slept with Sarah Kwablah the first day he met her. According to the footballer, they met on social media after Sarah had sent him a message after the 2015 AFCON when he came back to Ghana.

He disclosed that it was just after his training sessions at STC, he met with Sarah and they drove to Sarah’s residence where he slept with her.

Watch Lawyer Maurice Ampaw's Video Below:

“She sent me a message on social media and we became friends, so after 2015 AFCON tournament, I came to Ghana and we met at STC where I train and because I’m married I introduce her as friend to my colleagues and after the training we drove in my dirty training kits to her house and we had sex.”

Although the Black Stars Captain confessed to have had sex with Sarah, he denied sodomizing the young Lady like Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has made the world believe. He said “I will not deny sleeping with Sarah Kwablah, we both enjoyed the love making but she twisted the story and accused me of raping her, we had a good time”.

He indicated that the lady and her family made those accusations up in order to extort money from him adding that he was compelled by circumstances to tell his wife about it when the news was spreading like wild fire and since he is a truthful man.

Sarah Kwablah accused Ghana’s captain Asamoah Gyan of raping and sodomizing her. Her lawyer, Maurice Ampau has since the issue came up on several occasions used several foul words against the Captain.

  • Government officials begged me to ‘destroy’ Anas – Ken Agyapong [Video]

    accra24.com | Tue, 19 Mar 2019 00:06:00 +0000

NPP Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong And Anas Aremeyaw Anas
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has revealed that some big men within the party asked him to destroy renowned investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The controversial politician confessed that after mounting a spirited defense for the party, some members with the NPP have now decided to embarrass and destroy his reputation.

Mr. Agyapong in the wake of the Number 12 documentary, which exposed massive corruption at the Ghana Football Association leading to the resignation of GFA President Kwasi Nyantakyi, attacked Anas on several occasions calling him a fraud and a criminal person.

He further released some pictures he claimed were that of the investigative journalist.

But in an interview on Oman FM, the NPP firebrand added that he will not seek a re-election due to how the NPP is embarrassing him after he was used to destroy Anas and the Tiger Eye PI firm.

    Watch Video below:

“After mounting a spirited defense for the party against undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, I was disgraced in parliament like a child,” the fuming Assin Central lawmaker said.

He added: “Look at how the party is using me and eventually will disgrace me. I have had enough and I am quitting, I am telling you in plain words.

Before the Anas video came out, those who had the chance to preview it were alarmed and knew it will put the party in a bad light.

They sent emissaries to my house at dawn to go and defend the party; thereafter they disgraced me in parliament.

“Anybody who is at the NPP headquarters lobbying to be a Minister if I am not an MP he cannot run me down. Nobody can also come and ask me to leave my house at 7am and go to defend the party on radio or television.

Politics is not the only means through which one can make it.

I am tired of NPP and the embarrassments.” “I have decided not to contest again because of NPP and their conduct.

The way they are using me and making me to face all sorts of embarrassment I do not think I can continue.

You can record and go and play to them.

Where I have lived my life up to and they are treating me, I am calling it quits,” Mr. Agyapong stated.

  • President Akufo-Addo's Full Speech At The 62nd Ghana Independence Day Celebration Parade Tamale

    accra24.com | Wed, 06 Mar 2019 23:45:00 +0000

62nd Ghana Independence Day Celebration Parade Tamale
Speech By The President Of The Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, At The 62nd Independence Day Celebration Parade, At The Aliu Mahama Stadium, Tamale, On Wednesday, 6th March, 2019

It is with much joy and pride that I join you to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of our nation’s independence at this stadium, named, appropriately, after one of the outstanding figures of the 4th Republic and a native of this city, the late Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, who left us so prematurely, and whose dignified widow, Hajia Ramatu Mahama, is with us here. We continue to honour his memory.

I extend hearty congratulations to all Ghanaians from the vibrant and dynamic city of Tamale, capital of the Northern Region. This is the day we justifiably celebrate the collective energies and sacrifices of our forebears that led to that joyous night, when our historic first leader, Kwame Nkrumah, uttered the immemorial words “Ghana, your beloved country, is free forever”. We will defend that freedom with the last drop of our blood, as we remain dedicated to its preservation.

I extend also, on behalf of all Ghanaians, a warm welcome to our guest of honour, a good friend of mine and of our nation, His Excellency Mahamadou Issoufou, President of the brotherly Republic of Niger, fellow Member State of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and his delegation. Many of his compatriots, whom we call Zamramas, have been living amongst us in peace and solidarity for over a hundred years, contributing positively to the growth of our economy. His presence on this day, in our midst, will be a source of considerable pride to them. We are delighted that he has accepted our invitation to share this special day with us. Akwaaba, Your Excellency, is our word of welcome. We say, also, nakayooo, as the Zamramas say, and Jabbama in Fulani.

I am glad to see that all the high officials of State – the Vice President, the Speaker of Parliament, the representative of the Chief Justice, the Chairperson of the Council of State, the Chief Staff at the Office of the President, Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State, the Majority and Minority Leaders of Parliament, Members of Parliament, the Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, the Inspector General of Police, and Service Commanders, are all present here for this ceremony. And it is heartening to note that the former Presidents of the Republic, their Excellencies, Jerry John Rawlings, 1st President of the 4th Republic, and John Dramani Mahama, the 4th President of the 4th Republic and 2020 presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress, and the former 2nd Lady, Her Excellency Hajia Ramatu Mahama, are, also, present in this Stadium. Today is, indeed, our national day. We welcome also the dean and members of the Diplomatic Corps.

Fellow Ghanaians, for the first time in our nation’s history, this ceremony is being held outside our national capital city of Accra. Tamale was chosen as the venue not only to underline the unity of our nation, but also to express the appreciation of the nation for the peace and the process of reconciliation that have engulfed Dagbon since the enskinment of Yaa-Na Mahama Abukari II as Overlord of Dagbon, on 25th January. I welcome him to this event, as I do the former Regents of Dagbon, the Kampakuya Na and Bolin Lana, who have recently been enskinned as Yoo-Na Yakubu Abdulai Andani, Savelugu Na, and Mion Lana Mahamadu Abdulai, respectively. I say a special welcome, too, to the Nayiri, Naa Bohugu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, Overlord of Mamprugu, and the Yagbonwura, Tuntumba Boresa Sulemana Jakpa, Overlord of the Gonja State, two of the members of the Committee of Eminent Chiefs who, together with its Chairperson, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, were so instrumental in designing the roadmap, whose implementation has restored normalcy to Dagbon. I salute them all.

Ghana's 62nd Independence Day Anniversary Parade In Tamale, 6th March, 2019

After decades of being identified with unrest and disharmony, Dagbon has good reason to celebrate, and it is fitting that we use the opportunity of our independence anniversary celebration to converge here and celebrate with them on the theme of peace and unity.

On March 6, when we celebrate the independence of Ghana, we celebrate the strength that comes from speaking with a united voice. We celebrate the coming together of different peoples to make the united and strong nation of Ghana.

The diversity that went into weaving the fabric of Ghana is a source of strength, and not of weakness, it is a source of pride, and not of shame. Just watch the master kente and fugu weavers at work, and you will appreciate the strength that comes from the coming together of different and varied yarns to make a strong fabric with intricate and beautiful designs.

Our languages might be many, and, sometimes, there might be mutual frustration at having difficulty in speaking each other’s language, and no one feels that more than I do, when I stand here in Tamale, unable to speak Dagbani, but we have learnt to overcome such difficulties. We celebrate the variety of foods available under the theme of Ghanaian cuisine, and the variety of clothes that constitute Ghanaian fashion.

Indeed, the things that are now the source of friction amongst us are not the familiar and ancient differences of tribe and language.

Sadly, chieftaincy has generated more disputes and disharmony than any other institution. The tragedy is that, by chieftaincy’s very nature, only people from the same family can, and do lay claim to the same stool or skin.

I said in Parliament a fortnight ago that, spurred on by the momentum from the Dagbon settlement, the hardworking Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, the Hon. Kofi Dzamesi, is going to intensify his efforts to try and find solutions to other long-standing chieftaincy disputes.

Fellow Ghanaians, it is important for us all to pause awhile, examine and take a critical look at the chieftaincy institution in our nation. When it works, our chiefs provide the cohesive link to our past, and what defines us as a people.

When chieftaincy works, it is an embodiment of our culture and the rock on which we lean for support, and to which we resort in times of trouble. In many parts of our country, our chiefs are the custodians of our lands, and their activities can be the spark for development or for disputes.

Where the chiefs have united their people, and offered forward looking leadership, modernization has been rapid. Where there has been disunity, the area has lagged behind, and the disputes have been a drain on the public purse.

The very survival of the institution is at risk, unless we get over the multiplicity of disputes. For many young people, the pomp and pageantry, which are often all they see, cannot make up for the amount of trouble chieftaincy generates.

For some young people, the insistence on doing things the same way they have been done, whilst resisting any change, make the institution unattractive. The poverty that bedevils some of our lives can only be defeated and overcome, when we are united and pull together.

It is sad for me to have to state that the other institution that has been the source of friction in our society is politics. We, the leaders of the political parties, have a great responsibility to set a proper tone for political discourse in our country.

For years, a deliberate campaign was waged in this country to give competitive politics a bad name to justify military or authoritarian rule. Competitive politics was said to be divisive, antagonistic and corrupt. Well, we learnt from painful experience that military or authoritarian rule could be corrupt and divisive.

It took a long time for a consensus to emerge, but it did, and we all agreed that the form of government, within which we would want to conduct our affairs, should be a multi-party democracy, which, under the aegis of the 4th Republic, has provided us with the longest, uninterrupted period of stable, constitutional governance in our history.

Under a multi-party democracy, there would necessarily be a divergence of opinions, indeed, democracy thrives on debate, on passion, on argument and, sometimes, even on raised voices. In the midst of the arguments and the raised voices, there is and must always be mutual respect for the opposing viewpoints. Under a multi-party democracy, we must have elections that would, invariably, be keenly fought. There is no room, and there should be no room for violence in this whole process. It should be a contest of ideas that seeks to win over the hearts and minds of the people.

Success should be counted by how many young people go to school and get skills and jobs, and not by how many young people can be marshalled to disrupt elections, or how many broken bones we can count. The people of Ghana do not deserve to be toyed with in such a reckless manner. The very concept of political violence is offensive, and shames us all who are in politics. That is why I am determined that, hopefully, the impending dialogue between the two major political parties, the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress, who, between them, regularly take more than 95% of the vote in elections, who have provided all the seven governments of the 4th Republic, and who are the only two parties currently represented in Parliament, should succeed. I will spare no effort, including the initiation of the relevant legislation, to ensure that we rid our nation of politically-related violence.

We are in the process of reconstructing the Ghanaian state, by devolving more and more power to the people, so that people in their localities and communities become more and more empowered to take decisions about matters that affect them, and, thereby, enhance the ease of administration. The creation of six new regions and thirty-eight (38) more districts, and the decision to expand full democracy to local government, are part and parcel of this process of reconstruction, which will be the bedrock of the fairer, freer, more efficient and prosperous Ghana we want to construct.

Two years ago, at my inauguration as President, I asked that we build a confident Ghana which is united, at peace with herself, and takes pride in her diversity. I challenged us to accept that being a Ghanaian must stand for something more than the holder of a birth certificate or a certain passport.

I asked that being a Ghanaian must put certain responsibilities on each one of us, and calling yourself a Ghanaian must mean you have signed up to a certain definable code and conduct.

Fellow Ghanaians, let me remind all of us, again, that being a Ghanaian puts an obligation on each one of us to work at establishing a progressive and happy nation, and calling yourself a Ghanaian must mean we look out for each other. It means also that we must look after the land, the trees, the rivers, the mountains, the animals, all of God’s creatures, that represent this nation of Ghana. This is at the heart of the fight against galamsey, to which I am irrevocably committed.

I do not imagine that this Ghanaian, I envisage, should be an angel. Far from it. We would have all our human foibles, but we would operate within the agreed perimeters of our society. This is the cue to mention our security services, who help to maintain peace and order so we can get on with the business of running our affairs. I congratulate the security agencies for their work, and their readiness to put their lives on the line for the rest of us, and urge them to continue to be professional at all times.

Let me say a few words on our police service, because we need a credible and professional police service to be able to have a peaceful and united society. We cannot have a successful police service without the co-operation of the population. The co-operation starts with giving respect to the police, and encouraging them to earn the trust of the people by serving the public with dedication.

I am glad to note that the Police Service is moving to modernise its own rules and regulations. We should hold them to their vision to become a world-class Service, capable of delivering planned, protective and peaceful services to the standards of international best practice in a democracy.

For the first time, since the colonial Gold Coast era, the Police Service Instructions that govern every aspect of internal professional behaviour have been wholly revised. From the code of ethical conduct to administration, welfare, recruitment and training, use of firearms, the new Service Instructions puts into writing specific directions for every rank – police orderlies, charge officers, crime officers, regional and divisional commanders, Commissioners of Police, through to the authority of the Inspector General of Police himself, in every aspect of their work. The Police must police themselves, first.

I am glad also to note that the Service has launched a new Communication and Education strategy that sets out, explicitly, how the Service must conduct itself and engage in communicating with the citizens of Ghana.

In a region and continent plagued by several incidents of strife, our police have seen the ravages of war, and helped to stabilise the peace. They have served in international peacekeeping operations in just about every trouble spot in the world – in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cote d’Ivoire, Namibia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Georgia and Iraq.  Currently, our officers from the Ghana Police Service are providing peacekeeping duties in both the Sudan and South Sudan, as well as in Somalia and the Central African Republic.

They serve with distinction wherever they go. In this respect, I congratulate Chief Superintendent Phyllis Osei for winning the distinguished award in 2018 of the UN Female Police Officer of the year. She is the first Ghanaian female officer to win this global award.

I am pleased to announce that, like our Armed Forces, who serve with distinction on peacekeeping duties, members of the Police Service, who represent us abroad, have also seen their daily allowances increased from 30 to 35 US dollars.

I am happy to see that, finally, the Northern Regions of our country, under the programme for “Planting for Food and Jobs”, are beginning to fulfill their potential of being the food basket of our nation and region. The manner in which farmers in these regions have embraced the programme is a matter of great encouragement for me.

Fellow Ghanaians, I am glad that we are here in Tamale for this year’s celebration. I hope it will spur on many people to get to know our country. We have a beautiful country, and it deserves to be explored and admired. Apart from the joy of discovering the beauty and charms of our country, getting to know Ghana helps to dispel the prejudices of the unknown.

Those, who have the means to do so, should consider it more important to travel around and know Ghana, before they embark on the next vacation to Dubai! It means, of course, that the tourism authority has its work cut out. If they get it right with internal Ghanaian tourists, then they will be ready to cope with foreign tourists.

I urge those who live in the big cities, in particular, to get around the country a little. It just might change their outlook, and make them a little more tolerant of the difficulties that we need to overcome. I congratulate the people of Tamale for being such gracious hosts. This has never been done before, and, doubtless, we shall learn from the experience. The success of the Tamale experience may, however, set the trend for the rotation of this ceremony.

I hope that, very soon, we shall be hearing some exciting news about developments in the Northern Region. Twelve (12) years ago, after deliberate and focused investment in the upstream sector, we discovered oil in commercial quantities offshore the Western Region. Since coming to office two years ago, I have directed the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation to invest systematically in the Voltaian Basin, covering six adjoining regions, including the Northern Region here, to search for oil onshore.  I am confident that our search will not be in vain, and that, very, very soon, these areas, that have been characterized by avoidable levels of poverty, will be buzzing with significant investments and creation of jobs.  Our efforts are not limited to petroleum and agriculture alone. Again, we shall, soon, be introducing a bill in Parliament that will add new focus in the promotion and establishment of an integrated iron and steel industry in Ghana, an industry whose natural resource, iron ore, is in abundance in these areas.

Fellow Ghanaians, we have dubbed this year, the “Year of Return”, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first 20 West African slaves in the Commonwealth of Virginia, which subsequently became part of the United States of America. We intend to use the symbolism of this “Year of Return” to bring together Africans, persons of African descent, and all well-wishers and lovers of freedom to strengthen the commitment to ensuring that blots on our history, such as the Transatlantic Slave Trade and slavery, never reoccur. It means that we are expecting many, many visitors to our shores this year, and we must all, collectively and severally, be on our best behaviour, and make them feel welcome. Several diasporans of African descent, who have lived with us for many years, will, as part of the ‘Year of Return’, receive their long-awaited Ghanaian citizenship.

As we celebrate our nation’s 62nd birthday, we should be fortified in the knowledge that, despite our challenges and difficulties, we are on course to reaching our goal of a Ghana Beyond Aid, that is realising the vision of the free, fair, democratic, self-reliant, prosperous Ghana, governed by the rule of law and respect for human rights, that inspired our forebears to fight for the liberation of our country and continent from foreign domination. Let us remain steadfast and united – the goal is within reach.

I wish all Ghanaians a happy 62nd anniversary, and I thank, once again, His Excellency Mahamadou Issoufou, President of the Republic of Niger, for gracing this occasion.

May God bless us all, and our homeland Ghana, and make her great and strong.

I thank you for your attention.

  • Popular Nigeria Prophet Joshua confesses before church members, "We cheated on each other, had unholy children" - Rev Joshua Iginla opens up on divorce [Video]

    accra24.com | Tue, 05 Mar 2019 05:53:00 +0000

Senior pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, Kubwa, Abuja, Prophet Joshua Iginla
According to AfricaChurches.com reporters, the cleric, who revealed this at his church service in Nigeria's capital city Abuja, said his marriage ended due to infidelity on both sides.

From Joshua Iginla, when his wife cheated and had an ‘unholy child, he forgave her but when he cheated and had a child outside wedlock, she decided to make life unbearable for him.

The senior pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, Kubwa, Abuja, Joshua Iginla, may have laid it all on the altar during a church sermon on Sunday.

    Watch Video Below:

The popular preacher apparently confessed to cheating on his wife, Yemisi, in front of his congregation.

    - We cheated on each other, had ‘unholy children – Prophet Iginla opens up on divorce.

    - Popular Abuja pastor confesses to committing adultery.

    - My wife and I have children outside marriage, says popular Abuja pastor, Joshua Iginla.

It is unclear if his now estranged wife was present in church when he made the confession.

The shocking confession was streamed live on the church’s official YouTube page, Champions TV, on Sunday.

Mr Iginla talked about how he and his wife were headed for divorce and have spent the past few years as a united front while fighting adultery-related battles.

The pastor, who said he believed he is the first man of God “to do this”, said all he wants his peace of mind.

He told his startled congregation that his wife cheated on him and failed to turn a new leaf, a burden he has borne for the last seven years.

Mr Iginla also admitted to cheating on his wife which resulted in a child, just as she had a child for another man while they remained married to each other.

“When my wife cheated and had an ‘unholy’ child, I covered her up but when mine happened, she started blackmailing me,” the preacher said in his address.

The clergyman also lamented how some of his colleagues and “sons in ministry” ridiculed him and his marriage.

“This is why I urge us to pray for our leaders. It’s not easy for me to come out in public to say this, but I warned my wife, she didn’t listen rather she preferred to turn me to a laughing stock’.” He told his followers, “I and your mother in the Lord met and we had a wonderful marriage; before we got married, we started by checking our genotypes.

She was AA and I was AS. We had our first daughter, a wonderful child, and eventually we discovered she had sickle cell anemia.

I receive healing for people here with sickle cell and God has been doing miracles. “I saw it as a battle and a challenge for me as your father which is a trial of faith for me; it is not a problem for me. I embraced my daughter and we had a good relationship.

I may have been the first man of God to do it in this fashion but that is how I was led to do it.

I want you to throw your stones at me, abuse me, insult me and I will take it but I want to stay alive, if not for you, for my destiny. “We later discovered in the course of time that she (Yemisi) was actually AS and I was AS.

No problem. It was not a battle but one thing led to another. What happened was what would make a man divorce his wife scripturally and I had the backing for that.

But I had to cover it up to be sure that my marriage moved with your mother and that led to so many things.” He said because he was a man of God, he could not divorce his wife to prevent his followers from saying a man of God had parted ways with his wife.

Mr Iginla who runs a thriving church in Kubwa Abuja is renowned for his philanthropy as well as for gifting cars and cash gifts to Nollywood stars. He made news headlines in 2016 when he gifted six Nollywood actors and actresses a Hummer jeep 3 series, Mercedes G-Wagon and Mercedes CLS 550 to commemorate his birthday.

The beneficiaries were Jide Kosoko, Francis Duru, Alex Usifo, Ngozi Osondu, Thelma Nwosu, and Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Babaluwe.

  • Ghana's Former President John Mahama is Wicked, I Regret Campaigning For Him – Akua Donkor

    accra24.com | Thu, 28 Feb 2019 06:10:00 +0000

Former President John Dramani Mahama with Akua Donkor
The Founder of the Ghana Freedom Party’s (GFP), Akua Donkor says she regrets and feels ashamed spending her energy and resources over the years to campaign and defend for ex-President Mahama whom she describes as ‘wicked’.

Madam Akua Donkor who until now, had always referred to the ex-President as her son, denounced Mr Mahama claiming the latter is a dishonest person and urged Ghanaians not to put their trust in him.

The maverick politician cum farmer in an interview with Akwasi Nsiah on Kasapa News stated she has had a change of mind about Mr Mahama after he denied her access to a house at Sakumono which she supported him to build for her.

    Watch Full Audio-Video Below:

“I told John Mahama that I don’t have money to buy land at Sakumono so when he started building the flats which at the moment is twelve floors complete at Sakumono, I gave him gold in exchange of a house within the flats.

He later asked some persons to lead me to the flat and show me on which floor I’ll be staying and I later told the whole world that Mahama had given me a house.

I stay in a hotel whenever I come to Accra so a few days ago, I decided to move into the house at Sakumono, but Mahama sent some people to stop me and turned round to tell me that President Akufo Addo doesn’t want me to stay in that building.

That day I had to sleep on the compound of the MPs flat till the next day. “I’ve suffered a lot because of John Mahama, I’ve gone through hell because of my support for him.

But now he’s stabbed me in the back and I regret ever campaigning for him. I feel so bad that I just can’t forgive myself.”

In 2016, Madam Akua Donkor told the world that then-President John Dramani Mahama gave her two Pajero vehicles and a three bedroom house.

  • Ghana Election 2020: A battle of records will decide if NPP or NDC? - ‘Nana Addo, Toaso’ (continue) and ‘JM, Sanbra’ (come back)

    accra24.com | Tue, 26 Feb 2019 21:24:00 +0000

Ghana's  former President John Dramani Mahama and current President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to GhanaSky.com analyst through Columnist Rodney's Potpourri, Ghana's economy, education, health, employment, security and a host of other indicators will determine Ghana election 2020.

Therefore, the citizens of Ghana, must demand from NPP or NDC what they did during their four-year tenure.

So, that would help us to decide between ‘Nana Addo, Toaso’ (continue) and ‘JM, Sanbra’ (come back) Over the weekend, former President John Mahama (JM) simply drowned his opponents in a political tsunami during the National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) presidential primaries, leaving them flailing and gasping for precious oxygen.

Of course, any casual observer of the primary’ campaign knew what was coming, including, I am sure, his opponents.

Perhaps their only hope was that the inevitable blow would be merciful and delivered in a velvet glove.

But the party spoke emphatically with an iron fist devoid of the niceties of even a flimsy paper glove.

    Candidate Mahama, obvious choice

Truth be told, the NDC really had no choice other than JM because he was their most visible and best-known candidate.

Some argue that it is likely the NDC will lose the 2020 election and that the party will struggle to win 2024 with a new face. After all, since 1992, every incumbent party has enjoyed no less than two terms, and no fresh opposition candidate has ever won the presidency in a first attempt.

But, I am sure the general thinking in the party, quite understandably, is that there is always a first time, that JM is their best shot for now, and that should they get to that bridge in 2024, they will cross it.

The fact that constitutionally, he would only be eligible to serve one term if he wins the 2020 election, seemed to be far away from the minds of the over 213,000 delegates who donated their thumbprints to him last Saturday.

    Election 2020

I believe Election 2020 promises to be an exciting campaign, akin to a ‘Thriller in Manilla’ or ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ affair, to borrow from the screaming media headlines of the frenzied boxing heyday of Mohammed Ali, Joe Frazer, George Foreman et al.

We will, for the first time in our electoral history, be witnessing a presidential election battle between a former and an incumbent president. It couldn’t get juicier than this. The former president is not amused over the fact that he lost his job.

Now he wants it back. And I do not blame him for wanting to be our first Comeback President. After all, he holds the unenviable record of being the first incumbent President in this country to lose a re-election bid, and by such an embarrassingly huge margin.

Among others, he must want to wipe that ugly blot off his otherwise star-studded political CV which saw him rise from MP through to Deputy Minister, Minister, Vice President and then finally President. And so, he will go into the election with all that he can muster.

    Battle of records

Indeed, I believe the Election 2020 campaign has just begun-that is, if it did not begin on January 7, 2017 right after the inauguration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Cynics argue that this country is in a perpetual campaign mode because every decision or step by government and opposition is directed at the next general election.

I am excited about the 2020 campaign for the simple reason that neither candidate can make lofty promises to us without a reference point-that reference point being their own four-year records as President of this country.

On the economy, education, health, employment, security and a host of other indicators, we, the citizens, must demand of them what they did during their four-year tenure.

That would help us to decide between ‘Nana Addo, Toaso’ (continue) and ‘JM, Sanbra’ (come back). Simple. Dirty politics? Of course, there will be some for whom an issue-based campaign is an anathema.

They would prefer to wallow in the cesspit of dirty, ugly ethnocentric politics and divisiveness, pitching one ethnic group against the other. Others would find refuge in distributing money and all manner of cheap items in a squalid to clinch the election.

It will be naïve to pretend that this will not occur, or that it will not make some impact on the electoral outcome.

But we can, and must, rise above ‘Moneycracy’ and ‘Ethnocracy’.

We have carried alcohol, and we have carried water, as our elders put it. We must strive to be more discerning.

The 2020 clash must be of ideas and records, not of ethnicity or money. Or come to think of it, of macho men, boots, guns or slaps. We have a nation to build.

  • Victim of NDC office shooting buried amid tension at Kumasi Tafo

    accra24.com | Wed, 20 Feb 2019 21:42:00 +0000

Victim of NDC office shooting buried amid tension at Kumasi Tafo
The man who was shot dead by attackers at the Ashanti regional head office of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been buried amid heavy security.

A combined team of armed military and police foiled an attempt by some sympathisers of Abdul Wasiu Idrissu, to cause trouble at Tafo after a solemn Islamic ritual for the deceased.

According to Luv News’ Erastus Asare Donkor, the youth in their hundreds had wanted to ride towards the Tafo area after the burial but the security agencies blocked the road.

Police sources say they had intelligence they had wanted to rekindle an old conflict.

The Ashanti Regional Police are on a manhunt for four people who are alleged to have shot two people killing one of them at the office of the NDC in Kumasi.

    Watch Video Below:

In a press release, the police indicated the four suspects alleged to be part of an NDC vigilante group, Hawks, were behind the attack.

The suspects are Husein Barnabas, also known as Warrior, Mijima, Damos, and Abu Taliban.

This search comes after some executive and members of the NDC were attacked at the regional office in Kumasi on February 18.

According to an eye witness, the assailant, associated with an NDC militia, the Hawks, shot another NDC man thrice; first in the leg while he runs and twice in the chest at close range as he lay vulnerable.

Zainab Suleman, the mother of the deceased, told Joy News she looks up to Allah for strength, thanking the whole country for the support so far.

“I pray that Allah strengthens, blessings and protect the youth in this country from such attacks…,” she said.

Mohammed Iddrissu, the brother of the deceased wants government and security operatives to ensure that they get justice for Abdul Wasiu Iddrissu.

“People should not be allowed to hide behind any party to do the wrong thing. A crime is a crime and those in authority must ensure justice is served,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ambrose Derry, the Interior Minister has assured that the police will expeditiously investigate the murder.

He said the issue will be treated as a criminal one and the perpetrators will be brought to book. He is, however, cautioning against reprisals.

According to him, the incident provides an opportunity for all political parties to work together to stop political party vigilantism.

John Dramani Mahama is a Ghanaian politician who served as President of Ghana from 24 July 2012 to 7 January 2017.
Former President John Mahama has been hit with yet another lawsuit four days to the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) presidential election slated on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

In the latest lawsuit sighted by citinewsroom.com, a former Secretary of the NDC in the Trobu constituency in Accra, Edmund Palmer is seeking to restrain Mahama from contesting in the party’s upcoming presidential election.

Edmund Palmer in his writ wants the court to stop Mahama “from pursuing his bid to be elected as a flagbearer/presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress in his capacity as a former president of the Republic of Ghana, without the permission of Parliament.”

He is also seeking “an order of perpetual injunction restraining John Mahama from purporting to seek re-election howsoever as president of the Republic of Ghana without the permission of Parliament pursuant to Article 68(2), 68(3), 68(4), 68(5), 68(6),68(7) and 68(9) of the 1992 Constitution.”

The former NDC Trobu Secretary also wants the court to order John Mahama “to wind up the activities of his campaign office that was established for the purpose of seeking to coordinate his activities in his quest to become flagbearer/presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress.”

He further wants Mahama to stop all fundraising activities in support his re-election bid without the permission of Parliament.

    Watch Video Below:

Earlier in the week, one Stephen Agyeman dragged Mahama to court with the view of stopping Mahama from seeking re-election.

In his writ, Stephen Agyeman argued that Mahama’s re-election move violates the 1992 Constitution and he is thus asking the court to stop the former president from contesting in the NDC’s presidential election.

Mr. Agyeman is seeking a declaration to the effect that John Mahama “cannot purport to seek re-election as President of the Republic of Ghana” pursuant to Articles 68 clauses 2 to 9 of the Constitution.

Agyeman is also urging the court to declare that John Mahama is not qualified to stand re-election as president of the country.

“A declaration that pursuant to Article 66 (1) and 66 (2) of the 1992 Constitution, the defendant is not qualified as a candidate to stand for re-election as President of the Republic of Ghana on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.”

According to Agyeman, because John Mahama enjoys some privileges as former President, raising funds to support his bid for the presidential ticket of the NDC, without the permission of Parliament, he “has contravened Article 68 (2) of the 1992 Constitution.”

  • Nana Ama McBrown told me straight in the face that I’m not good for her brand – Akuapem Poloo

    accra24.com | Wed, 20 Feb 2019 02:46:00 +0000

Actress Nana Ama McBrown, Zion Felix and Actress Rosemond Alade Brown, aka Akuapem Poloo
Despite her many shenanigans and controversies, one would certainly have to feel little pity for actress Rosemond Alade Brown, aka Akuapem Poloo as she shares the sad story about how many of her colleagues look down on her on countless occasions.

The sad looking Poloo in an interview with Zionfelix on the ‘Uncut’ show revealed that her role model and icon in the movie industry, Nana Ama Mcbrown told her straight in the face that she would not want to have anything to do with her because the things she does in the media space will put a dent on her image if she associates with her publicly.

The attention-seeking mother of one added that McBrown blatantly refused to take pictures with her after the 2018 golden movie awards in the full glare of the media and some fans, something she has had many sleepless nights.

Asked if she has tried to ask the host and producer of ‘The Macbrown’s Kitchen’ why she did that to her, the video vixen replied Zionfelix that it has been impossible adding that it is because she does not have her number or knows where she stays.

She therefore used the ‘Uncut’ platform to appeal to the senses of the award-winning actress, to try as much possible and treat her right the next time they meet publicly because she adores her so much.

  • Yamin, Yamoah-Ponkoh arrested over NDC shooting in Kumasi

    accra24.com | Wed, 20 Feb 2019 01:59:00 +0000

Peace FM is reliably informed that former Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu-Juabeng in the Ashanti Region, Afrifa Yamoah-Ponkoh and a former deputy Minister of Sports, Joseph Yamin, have been picked by the Ashanti Regional Police Command, in connection with Monday's fatal shooting that rocked the Regional Headquarters of the opposition party.

PeaceFM and UTV's Senior Correspondent in the Ashanti Region, Sampson Nyamekye, confirmed the arrest of the top NDC officials during the station's News@6pm.

He said the Ashanti Regional Police command invited both Joseph Yamin and Afrifa Yamoah-Ponkoh to assist them in investigations into Monday, February 18th tragic shooting incident.

Earlier, Mr Ponkoh's househelp told the media that about 15 armed security men in two police vehicles stormed his Fumesua residence and arrested the politician.

Monday's fatal shooting at the NDC’s Regional Office in Kumasi left one person dead and another seriously wounded.

    Manhunt For 4 Suspects

The Ashanti Regional Police has launched a manhunt for four people suspected to be involved in the shooting.

In an interview with Peace FM News, the Acting Regional Police PRO, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, explained that the four suspects who are believed to be behind the attack, are alleged to be part of an NDC vigilante group, 'Hawks'.

"The suspects who are currently on the police wanted list include Husein Barnabas, also known as Warrior; Mijima, Damos, and Abu Taliban," he stated.

This search comes after some executive members and supporters of the NDC were attacked at the regional office in Kumasi, on February 18, during a high powered meeting of both some national and regional executives of the party.

He added that the police were working closely with party officials to apprehend the suspects.

We Won't Shield "Hawk" Or "Parrot"

Meanwhile, General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has given the assurance that the party will not shield the perpetrators.

“We have indicated that crime has no party colours. We don’t know who perpetrated this but because of the presence of the eyewitness, I am sure it will not be difficult for the police to get people to identify the perpetrators. Whoever did this should be picked up and dealt with according to law....we are not going to shield any criminal in the NDC. Anybody in connection with this crime whether a parrot or eagle or hawks, the law must take its course.”” he added.

  • Criss Waddle’s Ex-Girlfriend Now In A Serious Relationship With Nayas’s Ex-boyfriend, Ernest Opoku [Watch Video]

    accra24.com | Wed, 20 Feb 2019 00:20:00 +0000

Ernest Opoku Girlfriend Yaa Mary and Ernest Opoku Ex-Girlfriend Nayas 1
We earlier on shared a story with you about Criss Waddle’s ex-girlfriend Mary Obeng aka Yaa Baby or Mary Waddle, where she said she faked her attempted suicide after Criss Waddle dumped her.

Well, gh base has learned another shocking truth about the girl who has resurfaced again after some months.

She mentioned in her interview that, she’s found someone better than her ex-boyfriend, Waddle and we decided to dig and find out who this mysterious man she’s hyping is only to discover some shocking truth.
Criss Waddle’s ex-girlfriend, Mary Obeng aka Yaa Baby

Criss Waddle’s ex-girlfriend, Mary Obeng aka Yaa Baby Video:

Gh base can authoritatively state that 21-year-old Mary Obeng aka Yaa Baby is now the one chopping the Gospel musician known as Ernest Opoku, the same man who left Nayas three months after dating her, which landed him in all sorts of negative publicity.

Recall last year, an actress known as Nayas was all over the news ranting after she was dumped by Ernest Opoku and even at some point, tortured him when he was in a studio by caning him like she’s his mother.

It seems Ernest Opoku has a great taste for women who are well endowed and so he’s settled with Waddle’s old pawn.

Going through Yaa Baby’s IG account, she wished her sweetheart a Happy Birthday as today happens to be his birthday.

From what sources have told Gh base, their love is soo deep.

With Ernest Opoku having a good track record of being a commando in the bedroom, we can understand why Yaa Baby is dying for him.

We would be sharing more videos and details with you, so keep it locked on Gh base always for the juiciest gossips in this ‘Kentry’.
